Earlier tonight, as my colleague José Criales-Unzueta and I approached the Bushwick venue for Luar’s fall 2024 present, we have been stopped by safety to make room for an attendee in a black SUV. A girl carrying a cowboy hat and a silver sequined jacket emerged from the automotive. We checked out one another, gobsmacked. May or not it’s? Beyoncé? In Bushwick?!

The (normally) too-cool style milieu started to buzz as rumors of Bey’s presence swept by way of the venue. It was believable: her nephew—Solange’s son Julez—was set to stroll within the present. Positive, folks argued, Solange might very properly attend to assist her son. However the notion of the ultra-private Beyoncé popping out to Bushwick at 9 p.m. on a Tuesday, appeared totally laughable.

As predicted, Solange made her method by way of the gang, carrying a black midi costume with cutouts on the stomach over black tights, black pointy-toed slingbacks, and impenetrable black shades. The lowkey singer took her seat away from the reserved spots, sitting in the midst of the bench with designer Christopher John Rogers.

And ultimately, because the frenetic vitality within the room reached its crescendo, Beyoncé herself appeared in a glimmering silver blazer with matching thigh-high boots from Gaurav Gupta’s current spring 2024 couture assortment. Queen Bey’s look was polished off with outsized sun shades, a holographic Luar bag, and—in fact—her cowboy hat. She was surrounded by a barricade of dutiful publicists and safety—together with her longtime safety guard Julius, who has garnered one thing of a fandom for himself, as evidenced by the folks shouting “Julius! Julius!” from the gang. Together with Bey got here her mom, Ms. Tina Knowles herself.

As Julez walked the runway, the Knowleses grinned from ear to ear, Ms. Tina filming just like the dotting grandmother she is. They have been similar to any proud family members—solely with much more safety.
