“It felt like I used to be getting pranked,” Tyla says of receiving her first Grammy nomination for her hit tune “Water.” However, lo, the 22-year-old singer took dwelling her first trophy final night time for Finest African Music Efficiency. “[I’ve always dreamt of] bringing extra consideration again dwelling to our tradition, and our music, and our dancing, and all the pieces that’s South African.”

Tyla’s success, to her, feels virtually prophetic. “I had a dream that the tune was going to explode,” she says from the hair and make-up chair. “And it ended up occurring—so possibly I’ve tremendous powers.”

The transient was natural and sultry. And, certainly, the singer, who donned Atelier Versace gown for her particular night time, appeared one thing like a mermaid caught in a fisherman’s internet.
