Valentino and inventive director Pierpaolo Piccioli are parting methods, the Italian home stated on Friday. A “new inventive group” is to be introduced quickly.

Piccioli joined the home in 1999 as an adjunct designer alongside Maria Grazia Chiuri. The pair have been appointed co-creative administrators in 2008, changing Alessandra Facchinetti, who had taken up the function a 12 months earlier after founder Valentino Garavani retired. In 2016, Piccioli took on the function of sole inventive director, following Chiuri’s departure for Dior.

Piccioli grew up within the Italian resort metropolis of Nettuno, studied literature at Rome College, interned at Brunello Cucinelli and after commencement, joined the workforce at Fendi with Chiuri. Talking with Luke Leitch in a 2011 interview about the way in which he and Chiuri approached the duty of directing design at Valentino, Piccioli stated: “We hold the language however change the angle.” That translated initially into collections that toughened Valentino staples, together with ruffles and bows (to not point out pink), and injected new motifs just like the Rockstud.
